The government is preparing measures to support dairy farming, aimed at reducing the administrative burden, stricter control over food quality and limiting unfair trade practices. This became clear after a meeting between Prime Minister Rumen Radev and representatives of the industry. According to the Council of Ministers, options for supporting the sector are being considered despite the restrictions related to public finances.
The cabinet is also planning measures for greater transparency in the
pricing chain, as well as increased control over the import of raw
milk to guarantee the quality of the raw material.
The
"Basket with Care" initiative was also discussed. It
aims to encourage the inclusion of products from Bulgarian farmers
and processors in the consumer basket and stimulate domestic
production.
