Thousands of people along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast and across the country are planning to spend this night under the stars and celebrate July Morning. They will welcome the first July Morning to the sounds of the song of the same name by Uriah Heep, which has become a symbol of freedom and summer in Bulgaria. Although the tradition originated in Varna in the 1980s under the influence of the hippie movement, an emblematic place for the holiday is Kamen Bryag near Kavarna, where visitors from the country and abroad are expected. This year, the event will start there at 10:30 p.m. on the stage in the Ogancheto area, where the headliner will be rock star Jeff Scott Soto. A number of Bulgarian bands will also perform. In Burgas, the festive program will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Sea Garden and the culmination is welcoming the sunrise, BNR Burgas reports.
