New direct flight between Sofia and Tirana to bring Bulgaria and Albania closer

Starting on 4 July 2026, Sofia and Tirana will be connected by direct flights, bringing good news for travelers eager to discover more of Albania or Bulgaria and explore their rich cultural and natural heritage. The new route will be operated by low-cost carrier Wizz Air, with flights three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The new air connection marks an important step toward strengthening the friendly ties between the two countries, offering a convenient option for short leisure trips, cultural visits and new opportunities for Bulgarians and Albanians to connect. It is expected to facilitate not only tourism and business travel, but also people-to-people contacts, cultural exchange and cooperation in various fields.
Albania captivates visitors with its picturesque Adriatic and Ionian coastlines, ancient towns, mountain landscapes and warm hospitality, while Bulgaria offers a rich history, diverse nature, vibrant cultural traditions and attractions that draw visitors from around the world. Easier access between the two capitals will allow even more people to discover the beauty and spirit of both countries.
