Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed the development of bilateral relations during a meeting at the Beştepe Presidential Complex in Ankara. During the talks, Erdoğan expressed satisfaction with Bulgaria's approach toward the Turkish community, Türkiye's Directorate of Communications said.
President Erdoğan stated that relations between Türkiye and Bulgaria are advancing in many areas and that efforts are under way to further strengthen cooperation in trade, transport, the defense industry and energy, the statement said.
Erdoğan said that the Turkish community in Bulgaria strengthens the ties between the two countries and that Bulgaria's careful approach to this matter is appreciated, Türkiye's Directorate of Communications said. Erdoğan also invited Radev to attend the COP31 climate summit, which Türkiye will host in Antalya in November this year, BTA reported.
