The first Bulgarian feature film about Baba Vanga — “Rupite: Baba Vanga’s Last Prophecy” — is expected to be released in cinemas on November 13, 2026, the producers announced. Behind the project are Hristo Hristov – Zipo and Stoyan Stoyanov – Slash, the producers of “One Gram of Life”, which drew more than 200,000 viewers and was screened in over 40 cities across seven countries on three continents, BTA reported.

The new film is a mystery thriller inspired by real events, archives and legends surrounding Baba Vanga. The story centers on her last prophecy, which, according to the plot, was never publicly revealed. The storyline weaves together the ancient city of Heraclea Sintica near Rupite, interest in Vanga during World War II, the relationship between Lyudmila Zhivkova and Vanga, and the state-sponsored research into the prophetess carried out by the Research Institute of Suggestology during the socialist era.
