President Iliana Iotova visited the Sofia headquarters of EnduroSat on Tuesday and watched as SpaceX launched 10 satellites built by the Bulgarian firm from Vandenberg Space Force Base, the President's press office said.

EnduroSat founder and Chief Executive Officer Raycho Raychev presented the company's research, development and manufacturing capabilities. Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Pekanov also attended the visit to what the company describes as the largest space centre in Eastern Europe.

Although EnduroSat has offices abroad, its main research and development centre, full-scale production facilities, certification processes and broader technology ecosystem are based in Sofia.

According to the press release, EnduroSat works with leading organisations in the global space industry and has launched more than 100 satellites into orbit. It is developing a new class of satellites weighing between 150 kg and five tonnes and plans to expand into the defence sector, the Bulgarian News Agency BTA reported.

Future projects include transforming the former Dobroslavtsi Airport into a large space and technology campus. The company also invests in training future space engineers through specialised university programmes.
