Traffic is heavy at the Kalotina border crossing with Serbia for passenger cars entering the country, according to the Border Police. All other border crossings and checkpoints with Turkey, Greece, North Macedonia and Romania are experiencing normal traffic flow.

Low water levels on the Danube are hampering navigation in the Bulgarian section of the river, where six shoals have formed, according to Bozhidar Yankov, chief secretary of the Executive Agency for the Study and Maintenance of the Danube in Ruse.

Restrictions on vessel draft have been imposed in critical sections of the river near Somovit, Belene, Batina, Svishtov and Vardim. The forecast is for the river level to drop by a further 10 centimetres over the next two days.
