Burgas gendarme to help protect Paris tourist areas for three weeks

Senior police officer Georgi Karageorgiev from the Zonal Gendarmerie Department in Burgas is part of an international team that will assist Paris police in the French capital’s tourist areas, the Interior Ministry’s press centre said.

For three weeks, Georgi Karageorgiev and uniformed officers from Cyprus, Switzerland, Portugal and Italy will work alongside their colleagues from the Directorate of Local Security in Greater Paris (DSPAP – Direction de la Sécurité de Proximité de l’Agglomération Parisienne). The joint team will carry out duties in Paris as part of the European joint police teams.

The Paris Police Prefecture welcomed the initiative and wished the team success in their joint work, the Ministry of Interior added.
