“Smolyan 360” brings together outdoor enthusiasts

Over the weekend, the Rhodope Mountains will become the setting for one of the most exciting events — “Smolyan 360 – Mountain Exploration”. The event aims to showcase Smolyan and the Rhodopes through movement, adventure and a personal connection with the mountains. It will bring together mountain running, cycling and outdoor enthusiasts from across the country. Participants will follow routes at altitudes ranging from 1,100 to 1,600 metres, offering cool temperatures during the summer months and excellent conditions for outdoor activities. The biggest challenge for participants will be the 55-kilometre course, which makes a full loop around the city.

Smolyan 360 is not a race in the traditional sense. It is a way to explore the mountains, discover places that are otherwise hard to reach, challenge yourself and experience the Rhodopes in a different way”, said Kostadin Milov, chairman of the “Guides of the Rhodope” association.

The aim of the event is to draw attention to the Rhodopes as a destination for active tourism and sports.
