Over 300 swimmers to compete in international marathon in Burgas

Today, Burgas will host an international swimming marathon organised by world champion and winter swimming record holder Tsanko Tsankov and the “Pobeda” Swimming Sports Club.

More than 300 professional and amateur swimmers will take part in the event, setting off from the city’s North Beach. Participants in the sixth edition of the marathon will compete in open waters.

“This year, the marathon will feature a new course and easier access for everyone. We have prepared two distances — 500 and 1,000 metres — attractive prizes, specially designed medals for participants and cash awards for the best-performing competitors”, Tsanko Tsankov said.

The sporting event will also be open to children over the age of 10. The organisers have provided awards for veteran swimmers as well as for people with disabilities.
