Bulgaria
is strengthening its position as the most affordable tourist
destination in the EU. This is shown by the latest data on price
levels, according to which the country has the lowest overall
consumer prices in the EU, while hotels and restaurants in the country
are almost twice as cheap as the average European level, BGNES
reports.
According
to the Household Final Consumption Expenditure (HFCE) price level
index, where the EU average is 100, Bulgaria reports an index of 63.
Türkiye has an index of 59.6, Croatia – 78.4, Portugal – 86.6,
Greece – 87.4, Spain – 91.6, Italy – 97.1
Bulgaria's biggest advantage is in the category "Restaurants and Hotels" – the indicator that has the most direct significance for tourists. While the EU average is 100, Bulgaria has an index of 52.
