Heavy traffic reported at Kalotina and Kapitan Andreevo border crossings

Traffic is heavy for passenger vehicles entering Bulgaria at the Kalotina border crossing with Serbia and for vehicles leaving the country at the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing with Türkiye, the Border Police said. Traffic is normal at all other border crossings with Greece, North Macedonia and Romania.
From July 14 to July 17, traffic arrangements on the Hemus Motorway between km 47 and km 52 in Sofia Province will be temporarily altered due to roadside vegetation clearance and guardrail inspections, the Road Infrastructure Agency said.
One person died and 33 people were injured in 23 serious road accidents across the country over the past 24 hours, the Traffic Police reported. Since the beginning of July, there have been 300 serious road accidents, resulting in 19 fatalities and 373 injuries. Since the start of the year, 236 people have died in road accidents. Compared with the same period in 2025, the number of fatalities has increased by 22.
