Bulgaria
has not changed the course of its policy and is looking to the West, Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov said at a hearing in the
parliamentary committee, BTA reports.
The
answer came to a question from "Democratic Bulgaria" and "We
Continue the Change" about why the country has changed its
foreign policy course after Prime Minister Rumen Radev's refusal in
Paris to join the "Coalition of the Willing", which
supports Ukraine's defence against Russian aggression.
The
Minister explained that the "Coalition of the Willing"
cannot be implemented if a lasting peace was not achieved between
Ukraine and Russia. Since 2022, we have heard how peace will be
achieved through force, Stoyanov said. Bulgaria has stated that this
conflict will not be resolved on the battlefield and must be resolved
at the negotiating table. Providing more weapons only leads to more
victims, the Minister also said.
