Bulgaria ranks second in the EU for decline in industrial production

The sustained decline in Bulgaria’s industrial production, which began at the start of 2023, continued in May, according to the latest Eurostat data. The country recorded the second-largest drop in industrial output among European Union member states.
Bulgarian industrial production contracted by 4.7% year-on-year in May, after declining by 3.8% in the previous month.
Among EU countries, only Ireland registered a more significant decrease, with a drop of 19.7%.
