A ceremony marking the 189th anniversary of the birth of the Apostle of Freedom, Vasil Levski, will take place today at the National History Museum. President Iliana Iotova will deliver a speech at the event, organized by the museum together with the Vasil Levski National Museum. The initiative is dedicated to the life, work, and spiritual legacy of Vasil Levski and aims to pay tribute to his personality by bringing together scholarship, culture and public memory, the organizers said.

The programme includes the academic presentation “Vasil Levski in His Historical Time”, which will be delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Todor Radev from Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv. Guests will also have the opportunity to view the multimedia panorama “The Image of the Apostle in Bulgarian Visual Art”, presented by Professor Boyan Dobrev from the National Academy of Art.
