The government has approved amendments to Labour Migration and Labour Mobility Act regulations aimed at facilitating access to the Bulgarian labor market for seasonal workers from non-EU countries for up to 90 days.

The registration period for seasonal employment will be reduced from 10 to 3 working days. This expedited procedure will apply to workers who have been employed as seasonal workers in Bulgaria at least once during the past five years. The requirement for third-country nationals to submit copies of their identity documents when applying for access to the labour market will also be removed. The amendments also provide for the decentralization of the registration process for seasonal workers. Employers will be able to submit declarations for the registration of seasonal employment at any labor office in the country, which is expected to speed up the procedure.
