Heavy traffic reported at Kalotina border crossing

Traffic is heavy at the Kalotina border crossing for inbound passenger vehicles and trucks, the Border Police reported. Traffic is also heavy at the Lesovo border crossing for trucks exiting towards Türkiye. At the other border crossings and checkpoints with Greece, North Macedonia and Romania, traffic is normal for the season.

Over the past 24 hours, 25 serious road accidents have occurred in the country, resulting in three fatalities and 29 injuries, Traffic Police reported. Since the beginning of July, there have been 355 road accidents nationwide, with 24 fatalities and 440 injuries. Since the beginning of the year, 241 people have died in road accidents, while 4,203 have been injured. Compared with the same period in 2025, the number of road fatalities has increased by 22.
