Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova took part in the Ukraine–Southeast Europe Summit in Kyiv. The fifth edition of the leaders’ summit demonstrated the commitment of regional leaders to international efforts in support of Ukraine, its resilience and its recovery.
At a bilateral meeting with Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha, Velislava Petrova highlighted the importance of deepening cooperation in the energy sector and discussed opportunities to increase natural gas supplies, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Bulgaria will continue to maintain active political dialogue with Ukraine and work to expand practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including energy, infrastructure connectivity and defence, Minister Petrova said.
“The large Bulgarian national minority in Ukraine, the country's largest historic Bulgarian diaspora abroad, is a natural focus of bilateral relations and an important factor in the shared interest of both countries to develop and deepen their close cooperation”, Minister Petrova added.

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova-Chamova emphasized the importance of continuing support for Ukraine to achieve peace and of maintaining pressure on Russia to bring it to the negotiating table, Ukrinform reported, citing the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).
