Heavy traffic at the borders with Serbia and Türkiye

Traffic is heavy for passenger cars entering Bulgaria from Türkiye and Serbia, the Border Police reported. At the border with Türkiye, inbound traffic is intense at the “Kapitan Andreevo” and “Malko Tarnovo” checkpoints. At the Serbian border, traffic for cars entering Bulgaria is heavy at the “Kalotina” checkpoint. Traffic remains normal at all other border checkpoints with Greece, North Macedonia and Romania.

17 serious road accidents have occurred in the country over the past 24 hours. Twenty-one people were injured, Traffic Police reported. Since the beginning of the month, 24 people have died and 466 have been injured in road accidents. Since the start of the year, 241 people have died and 4,226 have been injured in road accidents. Compared with the same period last year, the number of road fatalities has increased by 22.
