Rumen Radev: Foreign Minister Petrova did not sign the Kyiv Declaration

“I want to clearly state that there are no contradictions within the government regarding the war in Ukraine, and that Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova did not sign the Kyiv Declaration”, Prime Minister Rumen Radev told journalists in parliament, BTA reported.

Rumen Radev stressed that the declaration does not bear the foreign minister’s signature. She was invited to attend Ukraine's Statehood Day celebrations, the prime minister explained. Asked about reports that the Bulgarian foreign minister’s signature appeared on the document, he replied: “Ask the hosts.”

Minister Velislava Petrova was in Ukraine to continue the bilateral talks held with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on two important issues — mutual cooperation in the fields of energy and the economy, Premier Radev added.

Rumen Radev reiterated that Bulgaria is part of common European decisions, but that Bulgaria will not provide and is not providing weapons or financial aid. He noted that decisions are taken by the EU and NATO — alliances in which Bulgaria is an active member.
