Sofia has sent Washington information related to alleged schemes used to bypass sanctions imposed under the Global Magnitsky Act, Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev told Nova TV. He stressed that the exchange of information with US institutions will continue, but details remain confidential due to US regulations.

Minister Demerdzhiev said the materials will also be submitted to the US Department of Justice, which “will then decide whether there are grounds for action within the scope of its powers.”

According to Demerdzhiev, the issue is not limited to individual flights or isolated financial transactions, but concerns a broader scheme for managing assets and avoiding sanctions through front persons and companies.
