Support for Bulgarians abroad will be expanded, Foreign Minister says

At the moment, no decision has been made to restructure the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, including by transforming it into a directorate or another structure within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This was announced by Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova-Chamova during a parliamentary control hearing.

It is of paramount importance for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, regardless of the organizational model, to preserve and develop all activities in support of Bulgarian communities abroad and to expand them, she said. The guiding principle is to prevent the weakening of the administrative capacity and also of the quality of the services provided for institutional support to Bulgarians abroad, the Foreign Minister added. We will not only preserve the activities, but also expand them, Petrova said.
