All Bulgarian high school students who took part in IMO won medals

students won a gold, two silver and three bronze medals at the 67th
International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), which was held in
Shanghai, China from July 12 to 20, 2026. The Association of Olympiad
Teams in Natural Sciences announced that the competition brought
together 666 participants from 119 countries.
The
gold medal went to eleventh grader Andrey Stefanov from Sofia. Silver
medals were won by Alexander Bangachev, also an 11th grader from
Sofia, and Dobromir Dobrev, a tenth grader from Sofia. Bronze medals
went to Georgi Nikolov in 12th grade from Sofia, Kiril Zulyamski, a
ninth grader from Sofia, and Bozhidar Sakarev, a tenth grader from
Sofia. The national team leaders are Dr. Stoyan Boev from the
American University in Bulgaria and Kristiyan Vassilev from the
Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of the Bulgarian Academy of
Sciences, BTA reports.
