Tuesday will bring another day of unsettled weather, with sunny spells alternating with showers and thunderstorms. A yellow weather warning has been issued for parts of the country.

Morning temperatures will range from 17°C to 21°C, with 17°C in Sofia. After overnight rain, sunshine will break through before clouds build again, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms. Storms will be most intense in eastern Bulgaria and the mountains, where hail is also possible. Northwestern Bulgaria is expected to remain largely dry. Light to moderate north-northwesterly winds will bring highs of 30°C to 35°C, around 30°C in Sofia.

Along the Black Sea coast, showers and thunderstorms will develop first over the northern coast before spreading south, with a risk of hail. The far southern coast will remain mostly dry. Highs will reach 26°C to 30°C. Sea temperatures will be around 25°C, but only 20°C north of Cape Kaliakra. The sea state will be slight.

In the mountains, thunderstorms will be most intense in the Rila-Rhodope region, with hail also possible. Moderate to strong west-northwesterly winds will blow over the higher peaks. Temperatures will reach around 25°C at 1,200 metres and 18°C at 2,000 metres.

Unsettled weather will continue on Wednesday, with sunshine giving way to showers, thunderstorms and hail as cooler air arrives on moderate to strong northwesterly winds, temporarily turning north-northeasterly in eastern Bulgaria.
