Bulgaria funds seaside holiday for 150 children from Serbia

More than 150 children from Bosilegrad, Dimitrovgrad and Babušnica in Serbia will spend part of their summer holiday in the Black Sea resort of Ravda under a programme that has provided free organised seaside holidays for Bulgarian children from the Western Outlands for nearly three decades. The initiative is run by local cultural and information centres with financial support from Bulgaria's National Assembly. The National Centre for Student Recreation, Tourism and Sport also helps organise part of the programme.

The first group, made up of children from the municipality of Babušnica, will stay in Ravda from July 22 to 31. The programme is open to children up to the age of 18 and is organised by the Zvontsi–Babušnica Cultural and Information Centre. From August 1 to 10, 50 children from Dimitrovgrad will take part in the programme, organised by the Dimitrovgrad Cultural and Information Centre. The final group will arrive from Bosilegrad, with 50 pupils staying at the National Children's Complex in Ravda from August 20 to 30.

Accommodation and full board are provided free of charge, while families cover only transport costs. Three group leaders will accompany the children throughout their stay.
