Bulgarian Foreign Ministry calls on Iran to negotiate with the US

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs received a note from the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sofia over the expected deployment of US military tanker aircraft at Bezmer Airport, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry announced.

Bulgaria is not taking any hostile actions against Iran in fulfilment of its commitments to its ally - the US. No military actions in the Middle East will take place from the territory of Bulgaria, the Ministry said. We hope that as soon as possible both parties to the conflict will re-engage in de-escalation and cessation of hostilities, which they managed to agree on recently. Bulgaria appeals for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the resumption of talks to negotiate a ceasefire, which would allow for the achievement of a sustainable agreement ending the conflict, the statement from Sofia reads.
