Prime Minister Rumen Radev held a telephone conversation with US Energy Secretary Chris Wright to discuss cooperation on energy and artificial intelligence projects, the Bulgarian government said.

The talks focused on energy diversification in Southeast Europe through improved regional interconnectivity, the development of the Vertical Gas Corridor, the construction of new units at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant using US technology, as well as plans for large-scale data centres and AI factories.

Radev also stressed the importance of ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the Burgas refinery for Bulgaria and the wider region, the government's press service said.
