Iran says stationing of U.S. aircraft in Bulgaria is a dangerous decision

Those in Bulgaria who decided to allow U.S. aerial refuelling aircraft to be stationed at Bulgarian military bases should be held accountable for what Iran considers a dangerous decision, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei Есмаил Багеи said, according to the Iranian embassy in Sofia and Bulgarian National Radio's Horizon programme.

"We are aware that Bulgaria has previously allowed Sofia Airport to be used for the deployment and operation of U.S. aircraft supporting U.S. military action against Iran," Baghaei said.

He added that the Iranian people had never had any problems with Bulgaria and that bilateral relations had been based on mutual respect for decades.
