The Shumen Industrial Zone is expected to attract more than 200 million euros in new investment, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investment and Industry Alexander Pulev said after meeting representatives of companies investing in the zone.

Investors listed building new electricity substations, expanding power capacity, improving transport infrastructure and speeding up approval procedures for investment projects among their main priorities.

Pulev said developing industrial zones was among the government's priorities. The 2026 budget earmarks 200 million euros to support energy-intensive businesses and a further 60 million euros to encourage investment, he said. The government will also work to reduce administrative barriers, improve infrastructure and create conditions to attract new investors.
