Colombian and Kazakh folk ensembles to perform in Shumen

Shumen will welcome folk ensembles from Colombia and Kazakhstan on July 28 as part of the 28th International Folklore Festival in Veliko Tarnovo.

The programme begins at 7:00 p.m. with a parade from Hotel Shumen through Oborishte Square and the pedestrian section of Slavyanski Boulevard to the City Garden, Shumen Municipality said. The procession will feature traditional costumes, musical instruments and authentic dances from the two countries.

The ensembles will perform traditional music and dances at a free concert in the City Garden from 8:30 p.m. The event is organised by Shumen Municipality in partnership with the Bulgarian National Section of CIOFF (the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts), an official partner of UNESCO.
