Bulgaria's Ministry of Finance organised an auction through the Bulgarian National Bank to issue 100 million euros in five-year government securities. The auction was held on July 27, according to the portal of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB). The offered government securities have a maturity of 5 years with an annual interest rate of 2.75 percent.

The auction is the tenth since the beginning of 2026 on the domestic market. Thus, the new debt raised on the domestic market this year amounts to 1.51 billion euros. The total amount of debt assumed in 2026 is already 4.01 billion euros. The State Budget Act sets the maximum amount of new public debt that can be taken in 2026 at €10.1 billion, including a loan of up to €3.261 billion under the European SAFE instrument to strengthen the defence industry.
