Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev meets Bulgarian diplomats in New York

Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev met Bulgarian diplomats in New York to discuss the company's ties with Bulgaria and Europe, the contribution of Bulgarian professionals to the U.S. fintech industry, and opportunities for cooperation with Sofia's Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology (INSAIT), the Bulgarian Consulate General said.

Born in Bulgaria and raised in the United States, Tenev also met representatives of Bulgarian communities in New York and Washington, D.C., expressed interest in meeting Bulgarian entrepreneurs, and shared memories of his family in Bulgaria while speaking in Bulgarian.

The meeting at the Bulgarian Consulate General in New York was attended by Consul General Angel Angelov, Bulgaria's Chargé d'Affaires ad interim in Washington, D.C., Stefka Yovcheva, and Chloe Barz, Robinhood's Head of International Government and External Affairs.

Angelov also showed the guests the consulate's library, named after Professor Dragomir Radev, the Bulgarian computer scientist who played a key role in the establishment of INSAIT.
