The European Commission has allocated €896 million to Bulgaria under the fourth payment request under the Recovery and Resilience Facility. Brussels reported on the implementation of a wide range of key milestones and targets set in the national Recovery and Resilience Plan, correspondent Angelina Piskova reported from Brussels.
Today's payment follows Bulgaria's fourth request for €1.1 billion, submitted on April 2. It was partially approved by the European Commission on June 18. The payment takes into account Bulgaria's progress in strengthening the rule of law and improving the business environment, including actions to fight corruption. The Commission also notes three unfulfilled commitments under the Recovery and Resilience Plan. They are linked to reforms in public transport, the water and sanitation sector and support for culture.
