Defense Minister: Negotiations with Poland for MiG-29 are not underway

Defense Minister Dimitar Stoyanov denied that Bulgaria was negotiating with Poland for the acquisition of MiG-29 fighter jets. This happened during parliamentary meeting in response to a question from MP Ivelin Parvanov from Vazrazhdane. The MP pointed out that according to Polish Deputy Defense Minister Paweł Zalewski, the MiG-29 aircraft, initially intended for delivery to Ukraine, will not be sent there, as Poland was holding talks with a NATO member state that is interested in the machines. According to publications in Polish and Ukrainian media, it is assumed that this is Bulgaria.
