This year, in August and September, joint uniformed teams from Bulgaria and Romania will carry out checks on the territory of Vidin and Dolj county, the Ministry of Interior announced. The officers will also participate in the control of the main road E-79.

The reason is the intensive traffic, including the movement of Romanian cars to Bulgarian resorts and transiting towards Greece, as well as Bulgarian vehicles going to Romania. The measure aims to guarantee traffic safety and ensure a calmer journey on days with heavy traffic. The checks will be focused on drivers with risky behavior. Similar patrols will also operate in the Ruse and Dobrich districts.
