The Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Travel Agents (ABTTA) has sent an official letter to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Tourism. In it, they insist on urgent action to increase road safety on the country's road network. "Traffic safety is not just a transport or police issue. It is part of the quality of the tourist product and the trust in Bulgaria as a safe tourist destination," the organization's position states.

The letter proposes taking specific measures, including:
• strengthening constant control on the main roads, especially on routes with intensive tourist traffic;
• increasing the visible police presence with a preventive effect;
• faster introduction of intelligent speed control systems;
• analysis of risky sections on tourist routes;
• creating
a mechanism for constant dialogue between institutions and the
tourism sector on safety issues.
