President says that Bulgaria is a safe destination and needs new advertising

Bulgaria is one of the safest destinations in many ways. There are no threats from conflicts in both Europe and the Middle East, said President Iliana Iotova during a visit to the archaeological complex of Perperikon. According to the head of state, cancelled charter tourist flights are due to the fuel situation. "It's about price and supply issues," the president said.

She emphasized that the promotion of the country should not be limited to commercials, but should include the telling of stories about Bulgarian cultural and historical landmarks. According to her, Perperikon is a unique archaeological site and deserves much greater international fame, BTA reports.
