New hunting season opens in Bulgaria

Bulgaria's new hunting season opens on Aug. 8, allowing the hunting of common quail, European turtle dove, Eurasian collared dove, common wood pigeon, Eurasian woodcock and common snipe.

Hunters are required to comply with the official hunting calendar, carry valid hunting and firearms permits, and identify their target before shooting.

The opening and closing dates for each game species are reviewed annually by hunting associations and the relevant authorities on the basis of monitoring and scientific assessments, before being set by ministerial order.
