Orange warning for dangerous heat issued in 21 regions

On Saturday, morning temperatures will range from 16 to 22°C, with 16°C in Sofia. It will be mainly sunny during the day. After midday, the atmosphere will become unstable across much of the country. Rain clouds will develop. Some places can expect brief showers accompanied by thunderstorms and hail. There will be a light to moderate north-north-easterly wind. Maximum temperatures: 33–38°C. In the capital, temperatures will reach around 33°C. An orange heat warning has been issued for 21 regions.

It will be sunny along the Black Sea coast before midday. Cumuliform rain clouds will develop in the afternoon, bringing showers and thunderstorms to many areas. A moderate northerly wind will blow. Maximum air temperatures will range from 29 to 32°C. The sea temperature will be around 25–26°. The sea state will be 2–3 on the Beaufort scale.

In the mountains, it will be mainly sunny before midday. After midday, rain clouds will develop, bringing brief showers and thunderstorms to many areas. There will be a moderate wind from the north. The maximum temperature at 1,200 metres above sea level will be around 27°C, while at 2,000 metres it will be around 19°C.

On Sunday, the weather will remain largely unchanged. There will be a slight drop in maximum temperatures. Around and after midday, cumulus clouds will develop and there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places.

It will remain hot in the Balkans, but the atmosphere will become unstable. It will be sunny in the morning, with rain clouds developing in the afternoon in many areas of the northern and western parts of the peninsula. This will bring brief showers accompanied by thunderstorms to some areas.

The forecast is 36°C in Athens, up to 33°C in Belgrade, 34°C in Bucharest and up to 32°C in Istanbul.
