The Greenpeace vessel Arctic Sunrise has docked in Varna for a two-day visit as part of the organisation's "Black Sea Without Oil and Gas" campaign, Bulgarian National Radio's Varna station reported.
Desislava Mikova, Greenpeace Bulgaria's campaign coordinator, said the ship's presence in the Black Sea was intended to support the campaign against offshore oil and gas development.
The vessel will be open to visitors on Aug. 7 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors will be able to meet the captain and members of the international crew and learn more about the ship's role in environmental and scientific missions around the world. Admission is free.
