The first 12 Coradia Stream electric trains for Bulgaria, manufactured by Alstom, have successfully completed the acceptance procedures in the country, the French company announced, as quoted by BTA.

Alstom described the milestone as an important step in its project to deliver 35 new electric intercity trains for Bulgaria. Ten of the trains are already at the manufacturer's depot in Bulgaria, where they are undergoing further testing on the national railway network.

The contract, signed in April 2025, also includes 15 years of maintenance services for the new fleet, the company noted in a social media post.

Meanwhile, Bulgaria's Ministry of Tourism has proposed naming the new trains after Bulgarian mountain peaks, natural landmarks and coastal sites as part of an initiative to promote domestic tourism. The plan also envisages installing QR codes inside the trains, enabling passengers to access information about tourist attractions and travel opportunities in the regions along each route.
