Dobrich tops Bulgaria's beer consumption ranking

On August 7, the world marks International Beer Day. To mark the occasion, Bulgaria's National Statistical Institute has published a ranking of the country's regions with the highest average beer consumption in 2025.

The Dobrich region ranks first, with an average of 61.5 litres of beer per person, followed by Pleven with 56.5 litres and Veliko Tarnovo with 55.6 litres per capita.

The top ten also includes the regions of Montana, Shumen, Sofia, Targovishte, Stara Zagora, Haskovo and Vratsa.

International Beer Day is celebrated every year on the first Friday of August. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the global celebration.
