Traffic is heavy at the Kalotina border checkpoint with Serbia, particularly for passenger cars entering Bulgaria. Traffic is also heavy at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint, with increased flows of vehicles entering and leaving Bulgaria at the border with Türkiye.
At the beginning of the working week, traffic through Bulgaria’s border checkpoints with Greece, North Macedonia and Romania is proceeding normally for the season, the Border Police report.
Temporary changes to traffic organisation will be introduced on the main road to Greece via the Makaza border checkpoint, the Road Infrastructure Agency has announced.
From August 10 to 14, roadworks will be carried out between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. in sections near the village of Chernoochenе in Kardzhali District.
The works will include excavation and embankment activities, as well as the construction of road shoulders. The road will remain open, but traffic will be directed through a narrowed lane.
