A biographical photo exhibition dedicated to poet, composer and performer Mihail Belchev (1946–2026) will open at 7 p.m. on August 13, marking the 80th anniversary of his birth. The exhibition will be displayed at Sofia Municipality’s outdoor gallery in the City Garden.
Mihail Belchev died on April 6 this year. The retrospective exhibition, titled “You Called Me, Life”, traces key moments in the artist’s life—from his childhood and his first steps in music with the Bodra Smyana children’s choir, to his appearances at the international Golden Orpheus Festival and the creation of his hit song “The Boulevard”, through his later years of widespread recognition, directing work and the hundreds of poems that have become part of Bulgaria’s cultural heritage. The exhibition will be on display through August 26.
