Normal traffic at Bulgaria’s border crossings

Traffic is proceeding without disruption at the country’s border crossings and checkpoints, the Border Police reported.

On August 12, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., traffic arrangements will change on sections of the Trakia Motorway in the Sofia and Pazardzhik regions due to expansion-joint cleaning. The Road Infrastructure Agency urged drivers to exercise caution and strictly follow road signs and traffic regulations.

24 serious road accidents were reported across the country over the past 24 hours, resulting in 3 fatalities and 32 injuries, the Traffic Police reported. Since the beginning of August, there have been 259 road accidents, resulting in 10 fatalities and 313 injuries. Since the beginning of the year, 4,033 accidents have been recorded, resulting in 281 deaths and 5,011 injuries. The number of road fatalities has increased by 30 compared with the same period in 2025.
