The employment rate among women in Bulgaria in 2025, in the 20-64 age group, stood at 73.2%, compared with an EU average of 71.4%, according to the Report on Gender Equality approved by the government.
However, a gender gap persists: the employment rate among men was 80.6%, or 7.4 percentage points higher than among women.
The average insurable earnings in 2025 reached BGN 1,854.22. For men, the figure was BGN 1,901.58, 5.4% higher than for women.
A slight narrowing was also recorded in the gap between the pensions for length of service and age received by men (BGN 1,101.97) and women (BGN 809.54).
