Traffic at Bulgaria’s border checkpoints and crossings is normal, the Border Police reported.
Ferry services operating at the Oryahovo–Bechet and Svishtov–Zimnicea border crossings have been temporarily suspended due to low water levels in the Danube. The ferry connecting Călărași and Silistra has also suspended operations after a dredging machine became stranded while attempting to deepen the river.
Traffic arrangements are being changed in the Vitinya Tunnel on the Hemus Motorway due to road sign cleaning, the Road Infrastructure Agency reported. From 9 p.m. on August 13 until 1 a.m. on August 14, work will be carried out in the tunnel tube towards Varna. Traffic will use the active and overtaking lanes, with the speed limit reduced to 60 km/h. From 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. on August 14, the signs in the tunnel tube towards Sofia will be cleaned.
