“The Rose Garden” – a new symbol of friendship between Kazanlak and Didymoteicho

A special public space called “The Rose Garden” was officially opened In the Greek town of Didymoteicho. It symbolizes the friendship and partnership between the twinned municipalities of Kazanlak and Didymoteicho.

The rose bush is the emblem of the town of Kazanlak, which is known as part of Bulgaria’s Rose Valley. During the ceremony in the Greek town, representatives of the two municipalities symbolically planted a rose bush, which will grow in Didymoteicho as a symbol of their lasting friendship, mutual respect and cooperation, the municipal administration said.

The ties between the two towns also include cultural exchange. Representatives and folk ensembles from Didymoteicho regularly take part in events in Kazanlak, including the Rose Festival, which was held in Bulgaria in the second half of May.
