Fuel prices in Bulgaria are expected to decline over the coming months, while fuel markets are also expected to return to normal. This was announced at a briefing at the oil refinery in Burgas by Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Aleksandar Pulev and Evgeni Simeonov, the special commercial manager of Lukoil’s operations in Bulgaria, Bulgarian National Radio’s Horizont reported.
They emphasized that a serious energy crisis had been averted thanks to the UK’s extension of the operating license for Lukoil group companies in Bulgaria.
Evgeni Simeonov said that oil purchased in Bulgaria comes from major global suppliers, rejecting speculation that it is being supplied by sanctioned companies.
Oil supplies have been secured through the end of September, while negotiations for October are underway, Simeonov assured.
