Bulgaria expects two anti-drone systems to arrive on Saturday. However, technological time is needed to train the personnel. This became clear at a meeting of Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov with journalists in Pleven.
"We are in the process of acquiring two
more such systems. I expect them by the end of next week,"
Stoyanov said, quoted by BTA.
When asked about the
drone from Ukraine, which entered Bulgarian airspace on August 8 and
exploded 100 meters inside the Bulgarian border, the minister said
that the answer that was received from the Ukrainian side by their
spokesperson was that drones were not purposefully sent to the
territory of Bulgaria. According to him, there may have been an
impact on the GPS system and a failure of the control system. The
assessment of experts is still awaited.
